About Me

I completed my three year Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2013. My training consisted of placements in child, adult, older adult and learning disability services with clients who presented with a range of mental health and developmental needs.

Post-qualifying, I held split posts in child and adult neurodevelopmental services, developing my passion and expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder. Up until April 2024, I was employed as a principal clinical psychologist leading a complex adult ASD assessment team as part of an NHS contract. I now work on a consultant basis for the Lorna Wing Centre in Bromley, Kent, who are part of the National Autistic Society, conducting ASD assessments.

In my private practice, I have developed my expertise in psychological interventions for children and adults (with and without neurodevelopmental disorders) who are experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, trauma etc. I am an EMDR Europe accredited practitioner for adults and have completed advanced training in using EMDR with children. I also use Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) in my work.

If you, your child, or a family member are having difficulties related to school, work, family or social relationships then I may be able to help. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to develop a collaborative plan. My clinic operates in Beckenham, Kent between 9-3 on weekdays. Please contact me directly at emmataylorpsych@gmail.com.
